Zimmerman & Zimmerman is a social enterprise based in the heart of Amsterdam.
We create online tools for governmental organisations, multi-laterals and NGO’s which make it possible for them to publish and visualise their (open) data via transparency & financial flow web-portals in order to show the public where the funding, mostly tax money is coming from and how it’s being spend in for example development aid countries. Examples can be found in our showcases section.
We work together with the following partners & clients:
- Aids Fonds
- Centre 4 Innovation, University of Leiden
- Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Netherlands Enterprise Agency
- Oxfam Novib
Open data engine
We have developed, and maintain, the codebase for the data visualisation engine OIPA. Which renders IATI compliant XML for storage and re-use via its rich API endpoints. The data engine is open-source and has been published under the AGPL-license. It makes use of several technical components, which enable direct data transfer from any IATI dataset residing at the IATI registry to a local OIPA database. As soon as this data is available, the API will communicate with it, enabling one to search, publish, aggregate and visualise IATI data.
